can't really seem to find the mood to study at all..
instead, guess what this ridiculous girl did?
there was an inter-house chess tournament this morning.. yea, chess and amy never did go well together.. stupid gerald (our senior, geraldine's lil bro) made me play cos my house didn't have enough players.. and as predicted.. i loss.. plain dumb.. wahaha...
besides that, it was english language week last week.. there wasn't a singing competition BUT an MBS idol competition.. hmm... interesting eh? lol.. however, i didn't even thought of joining it.. was just too afraid to.. like what i'm sure sonia would call, a chicken shit.. wahaha.. anyhow, one of my classmate wanted me to sing a duet with her.. erm.. maybe i'll give it a try... having a partner is MUCH better than singing alone.. so i joined the competition.
1st day of competition - my friend and i emerged as the winners for the duet category, singing At the Beginning from Anastasia.. (chose that song cos it was easy and sounded nice since our quartet already did a rendition of that.. =P) while the winners for the girls and boys category were carrie (not sure how it spells) and mervin respectively.. (hmm.. maybe i should just hand this up as the report for the ed-board.. lol)
anyway, the four of us were suppose to compete against each other the next day for the MBS idol.. er.. what the?? i'm suppose to sing solo to compete the next day?? you must be kidding me.. but anyhow, to cut things short.. i sang Only Hope by Mandy Moore from A Walk to Remember.. while the others sang, My Valentine - Martina Mcbride, There You'll Be - Faith Hill, When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keating and God Must Have Spent A Litttle More Time On You - N'Sync..
the winners? 2nd runner up was the guy who sang the song by Ronan Keating while the 'Pearl Habour' girl was 1st runner up and as expected, the MBS idol for year 2006 is..... *drum roll please* Mervin! who sang God Must Have Spent A Litttle More Time On You.. woohoo! "you rock man!" hehee.. congrats dude! =)
haha.. saddening.. didn't expect that the 2nd runner up guy was better than me.. damn freaking disappointing.. and besides, he wasn't even supposed to be in the 2nd round competition.. he was just the 1st runner up for the boys' category on the first day.. nevertheless, it was as if i was ran-over by a heavy duty 18 wheeler truck while walking blindfolded on an expressway.. oh well, i just don't know how to 'put up a show' never did and never will.. guess i'm more of a bathroom singer.. i sing for myself.. though i actually don't do that.. -_-
well, the teachers / judges said i was more of a 'monotonous' singer.. (eh?) and that they are sure i won't be able to sing the song There You'll Be like the other girl or a song with a wider vocal range with my voice.. (hmm... something that never did struck my head.. worth considering?) they also saw that i was nervous.. yea.. *sigh* i can never hide my nervousness.. really admire those with such courage and confidence in themselves.. *sigh*
i was kinda feeling stupid and belittled when my friends confronted one of the judges after the event and told her that i'll be going for malaysian idol.. she must be thinking that i'm really one blockhead and i'll humiliate myself in front of the whole country..
anyhow i'm thankful that my friends actually argued with the teacher about the results. thanks guys! but the judges decision is final.. they are the judges for a reason rite..? i really appreciate it though.. =)
i suppose i'll have to improve more on my singing and showmanship if i wanna continue singing.. having some doubts about it.. >_<
anyway, to thick-face freaks,
just sing your heart out..
enjoy.
